fishing ExtracurricularWhen the school day ends, and on weekends too, Stewart Home School offers a wide range of recreational and social experiences, both on campus and off, that students and staff enjoy for relaxation, fun, exercise and learning. Students with a wide variety of special needs all find something they can participate in and enjoy!

In our gymnasium, students enjoy concerts, special speakers, plays, movies, games, basketball, volleyball, well—just imagine! Around the campus, well-maintained athletic fields offer an invitation to participate in sports activities that change with the seasons

The open-air pavilion provides the perfect venue for campus dances, picnics and other events, all with a spectacular view.

Fishing ponds and an equestrian center offer students more outlets for adventure in the great outdoors.

Stewart Home School’s Indoor Health and Fitness Center is ideal for days when the weather refuses to cooperate (and all other days, too!). The new center features state-of-the-art workout areas, treadmills, stationary and recumbent bicycles, and an indoor walking/jogging track.

Off Campus

SHSCNN ExtracurricularLife on campus is wonderful but so is life off-campus. Students are in Frankfort every day-to work, to dine out and to have fun! We bowl, swim, golf, fish and dance. We visit museums, the capitol, and other points of local interest. Trips are arranged to Lexington and Louisville to parks, sporting events, theatre productions and concerts. We also travel the country to far off destinations to cruise, sight see, camp and learn. Our trips have included Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, England, Scotland, Mexico and numerous islands. We go by bus, train, plane and boat and love every minute of all our travels!
