When Stewart Home School was founded in 1893, the only means of communicating with our families was by letter – hence, the title of a very special role. Each teacher is assigned the role of Correspondent for a group of students and helps the students correspond with their families on a regular basis. Of course, now it’s by emails, text messaging, Skype, phone calls, but the object is the same – to stay in touch and informed. Correspondents assist students with their schedules, permissions, special trips to town to eat out and shop, and provide the personal attention families need for their students.
