A typical day at Stewart Home School starts early – waking up to beautiful views out of every window and to friends sharing dreams and goals for the day. There’s so much to look forward to and to discuss over breakfast and then it’s off to class or work or to some special outing. (Today, the choir is loading up to perform at the Senior Citizens’ Center.)
All day, every day there are classes, scheduled job assignments, meetings and so many extracurricular activities – horseback riding, yoga, swimming, aerobics, dance classes, Bible study, guitar lessons…and then there are Special Olympics practices and competitions in every sport. Best Buddies may be meeting, a concert may be taking place, but there’s always time in one’s own room or Correspondent classroom, to reflect on it all.
Each student has interests, talents, skills and desires that their family and Stewart Home School support. The school relies upon the direction and collaboration from all of the loving people who are involved in each student’s life – and most of all – the students themselves. This life, (“my happy home” – as Lindsay calls it) is a constant pursuit of everyone involved in Stewart Home School’s mission and purpose. You have to see it – it’s hard to describe.
