Answers to Your Frequently
Asked Questions 1. How often can we visit?Any time you want! Families are in contact with the school, and students are able to go home at the family's convenience. Most students return home over the holidays, a few weeks in the summer, and in the spring and fall for special occasions. Stewart Home School hosts a Family Weekend each year in May, and families arrange to be here for the fun and festivities. Family Weekend 2007 will be May 17-19, 2007.2. What about transportation? We take our students to the Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati airports. Frankfort also has a private airport. Flights are arranged by the families, or by the school at the family's request. We see our students onto the planes, and pick them up when they return.3. What is not covered by tuition?Toiletries, clothes, haircuts, dental care, travel, and any item or service purchased and furnished to the student are included in an incidental account itemized monthly for such expenses. Families control most of these costs.4. How are programs decided?Families, faculty and students choose classes and work programs based on achievement, interests, and goals. Students are gently encouraged to explore new areas of interest.5. Is there any funding available? For more than a century, Stewart Home School has operated as a private, for-profit corporation. The school is ineligible for state or federal funding; however, students who are receiving Social Security benefits continue to be eligible at Stewart Home School. At present, there are no scholarships available. As such, families bear the cost of services.6. Are there families in my area? We have students from 38 states and 5 foreign
countries. Let us know if you would like to talk with them about
